Welcome to the tribute to one of the most
emblematic figures in the cultural history of Mexico and the world.

If Frida Kahlo walked into TANE today and asked us to design a collection for her, what would it be like?

Under this hypothesis, we have created the most extensive collection in our history:
forty-seven jewels, within five universes that seek to capture and explore the different dimensions of the life of the most relevant woman and artist in the history of Latin America.

The Mexican house
creating a deep tribute to an icon of the country.

Prehispánico

Frida: the most Mexican Mexican
It is at the origin of the country where Frida found her identity: Mexico blossoms within her to transform it into a flag that she would carry with her no matter where she went. Frida is the woman dressed as a Tehuana in New York and Paris. They are the stones of pre-Hispanic origin on her neck, it is her look at the people and her pride in her roots. Frida is her home in Coyoacán, where she was born, died and always longed to return. Frida is the tequila, the songs with Chavela and her immortalized presence in Diego's murals. Frida is Mexico, and Mexico is Frida.

Trenzas

Frida: the one with the braids
Frida said that in her life she had two accidents: the tram and Diego. And the second was the most serious. The braids in her hair, often made by her and sometimes by her sisters or her friends, are thus a celebration of the sunrise. It is in those braids that we are inspired to create this universe, where silver is interwoven and it is in every movement that we remember that life deserves to be celebrated, every day.

Milagritos

Frida: the one of miracles made little miracles
Frida is a miracle in herself: surreal stories for others, realistic for her, turning her work into an open display of her body and her soul. Thus, without anesthesia, she opens her heart to us to create a new world from a unique perspective: the thought that a broken body can create the freest mind. In Mexico, we use milagritos to ask for a miracle or to give thanks for something. In this universe we create jewelry as a thank you to its history. First, to her heart, present in her work as an element of life and death; and secondly, at her hand. Her hand as an artist who created the Latin American work that would mark the history of art in the 20th century (and those to come), and that would put the name of Mexico in the world.

Flora

Frida: the one from the flower garden
The flowers enter and leave their reality and their pictorial space, without knowing which is which, and become an iconic element in their history. It is through the gardens created in her mind and in her life that Frida finds her own reflection. The most delicate flowers in the world coexisting with cacti and thorns, almost like an echo of herself: her fragile body coexisting with her unbreakable spirit. And within that garden, a special flower for her and for TANE: the Dahlia. The National flower of Mexico is reborn to be the great representative of this universe. The delicate petals, immortalized with the hardness of silver, are the best reflection of Frida Kahlo and her garden.

Fauna

Frida: the mother and the free spirit
Animals are part of the life and work of a woman who expressed it all. A unique universe to represent the living beings that were part of her history, with two great tributes. The first, to her playmates, protagonists in her works, inhabitants of the patio of the blue house, children: the spider monkeys are a central element in Frida's story. And the second: to the swallow. It was Chavela who once said that her eyebrows together looked like a swallow in flight. But, also, by the artist's own wings, which took her beyond her own limits. It is the bird that best expresses Frida: still trapped in her corset and in her thousands of noes, the swallow is a nod to Frida herself, who never stopped flying.
